Before & After: Cranberry Township Master Bath and Kitchen Remodel (June 2019)

Kitchen Demo List and Wish List

  1. Keep footprint of cabinets
  2. Keep the hardwood flooring
  3. Take new cabinets to the ceiling
  4. Replace the desk area with a coffee bar
  5. Expand the island countertop
  6. New cabinets, countertop, lights and backsplash

Staying with the style of the home, we designed a mid-century modern kitchen with high contrasts and sleeker lines. We used a darker backsplash to make the white cabinets pop and the veining of the countertop more distinct. The navy island adds pop of color but pulls the darker hues out of the floor hardwood.

The coffee/wine bar area is equipped with in-cabinet and under-cabinet lighting, wine refrigerator and extra storage. We carried over the same finishes and added the prairie mullions to the glass doors to give the area a little more décor.

Master Bath Demo List and Wish List

  1. Complete Remodel
  2. Bigger vanity with linen storage
  3. Expand the shower
  4. Paint
  5. Tile shower walls and floor.
  6. More modern fixtures and finishes

As we continue into the master bathroom, we eliminated the tub and decking surround. Extended the vanity and shower area. The vanity now has much more adequate storage and a space for linens. For the shower area the tile surround is an elongated hexagon. We used a pebble accent for the shower floor and carried that into the back of the niche. To tie the dark vanity and light tile surround together, we used a beautiful tile that has a water fall style. Its smoother appearance and tone on tone colors help complete this space.
